KABUL: At least 17 key members of Haqqani Terrorist Network were killed during latest raids conducted by the Special Forces of National Directorate of Security (NDS) in southeastern Khost province.
Sabil Hamdi, a key commander of the terrorist group was among killed terrorists in the preemptive operation carried out in Sabri, Zazi Maidan and Bak districts of Khost province, the NDS said in a statement on Wednesday.
Enough weapons and ammunition of the enemy were also destroyed in the operation.
This is as NDS says they have killed two important commanders of Taliban and al-Qaeda terrorist groups in Paktika province.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the intelligence agency said that Daulat Baig, known as Abdu Mohammad Ali Tajiki, a Tajikistan citizen who was responsible for Indian sub-continent by al-Qaeda, was killed.
It called the second one as Hazrat Ali, a Pakistan national and Taliban commander who was killed along with Tajiki. “They were financially supported by the Taliban and al-Qaeda,” it said.
The incident took place in the Gayan district, the NDS said without elaborating about the operation.
Tajiki and Ali planned to arm insurgents with modern weapons in the provinces of Ghazni, Logar and Zabul, according to the statement.
