KABUL: The intelligence operatives arrested a group of nine Taliban members in capital Kabul, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said on Monday.
The NDS said in a statement that the detained terrorists included Mohammad Nesar, Mohammad Juma, Shirullah, Saifullah, Abdul Ahad, Sharafatullah, Rahmtaullah and Abdullah who were involved in targeted-attacks on the civilians, government officials and the security forces.
The group is accused of carrying out magnetic bomb blasts, and throwing of grenades on the security forces outposts in PD 12 and 19 of Kabul city.
The group was involved in transferring explosives from Laghman province to capital Kabul.
They were planning a series of targeted-attacks in Kabul city, the statement said, adding that the intelligence forces arrested them before they reach to their goals.
Afghanistan has recently seen an upswing in targeted-attacks on government employee, professional figures and as well as the security forces amid efforts to find a political end to the longest violence of four decades.
