KABUL: Munira Alimyar, a female member of the provincial council for Badakhshan in the northeast was among six people injured in a Saturday bomb blast. The incident took place Saturday in the provincial capital of Faizabad.
Separately, source in the eastern province of Laghman said that four civilians were killed and 16 others wounded after severe clashes erupted between the security forces and Taliban in Alishang district.
Kabul police also confirmed that unknown gunmen shot an individual dead in the Police District 5 of the capital city.
In Takhar, the adjacent province of Badakhshan, police spokesman Abdul Khalil Asir said that a mortar hit a house in 60 Metra (60 meters) area located along the Kunduz-Takhar highway. The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission called for an end to the civilian casualties. The commission said that it had always urged the Taliban to stop planting roadside mines that often inflict casualties on civilians.
