KABUL: The Kremlin says that it was ready for any type development in Afghanistan after the international troops withdrawal.
The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov said Monday that Moscow and some other countries are working to ensure “peace and reconciliation” in Afghanistan. “The upcoming months are possibly determining. Based on estimations (in Afghanistan), an intense military activity is upcoming, there are a lot of things related to the preparation of the conflictive parties in Afghanistan for negotiations.”
According to him, the Afghan political force will not support the Taliban’s military victory. Russia would soon hold a summit under “Moscow Format” that would included all the countries including the U.S. to facilitate peace in Afghanistan, Lavrov said.
The U.S. and NATO allied countries are leaving Afghanistan amid a high level of violence and Taliban’s rapid territorial gains. The U.S. President Joe Biden said earlier that American troop will be withdrawn without considering condition by September 11.
