KABUL: Taliban killed at least 100 civilians in Spin Boldak district of southern Kandahar province, said the ministry of Interior on Friday.
The ministry spokesman Mirwais Stanikzai said that the Taliban dragged 400 people out of their residences. He said that the dead bodies of 100 people have been found.
The First Vice President Amurullah Saleh on his twitter page termed the killing of youth, mostly, players, civil activists, traders and people accused of supporting the government as an act of genocide.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid denied the group’s hand in the killing of civilians.
This comes as fighting has been intensified in many parts of Kandahar province, inflicting heavy causalities on civilians.
