AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: At least eight people including three women and as many children were killed in a traffic accident in Kabul-Herat Highway, said official on Saturday.
Bokhdi News Agency quoted the district chief of Washir, Ayub Omar, as saying that the incident took place in Talkhak village of Washir district when a small bus collided with a truck on Saturday morning.
He added that all the victims were the passengers of the small bus—TownAce.
According to him, the passengers were traveling to Sangin district of Helmand.
Driver of the truck has been arrested by police in connection to the incident, he added.
Main reason behind the incident is not known yet but traffic department officials said high speed is the major creator of such deadly incidents on highways.
High speed, careless driving and sub-standard roads are core reasons behind deadly traffic incidents in the country.
