KABUL: Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross ICRC arrived in Kabul to meet with the Afghan officials, discussing the humanitarian support to the war-torn country.
President of the organization, Peter Maurer is set to visit medical facilities, rehabilitation centers for war victims as well as its staffs working in Afghanistan.
“Afghans have suffered from 40 years of conflict and they now face years of work to heal and recover,” said the Swiss diplomat.
Maurer added the International Committee of the Red Cross was dedicated to staying in Afghanistan to help that recovery.
This comes as the United Nations had earlier warned that Afghans are scrambling with humanitarian catastrophe.
