AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: After the establishment of a women bazaar in the central Bamyan province, women would be able to go for shopping without any concerns, said officials.
The provincial women’s association on Sunday welcomed the newly opened women bazaar and said that bazaar is consisting of around 20 shops. The Bamyan Municipality allotted the shops free of cost to the underprivileged women.
Women would be able to sell their handicrafts and agricultural products in the market.
Bamyan mayor, Eng. Khadem Hussain Fitar, told local media that the market would help the businesswomen and female artisans to have a suitable and secure place to sell their products.
A local businesswoman said that it would be more comfortable for women to do shopping in women bazaar as they sometimes need products that they couldn’t buy from men’s shop.
Head of Sulsal Association, Uzra Lali, said that women previously had to pay Afs10,000 monthly to rent a shop.
She said that women shopkeepers would have no fear now about paying rent and could focus on business growth.
