KABUL: First Deputy Prime Minister, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar called on the world countries to resume their Kabul-based diplomatic missions.
He cited the remarks at a meeting hosted in Presidential Palace on Thursday evening. The meeting was attended by diplomats of the Kabul-based active embassies, including Russia, China and Pakistan. The acting foreign minister, Amir Khan Mutaqi was also present in the meeting.
“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan wants good relations with countries of the world,” Baradar was quoted in a tweet by Suhail Shaheen, the spokesman of the Taliban’s political office in Qatar. “If anyone has an issue with us, we are ready to resolve it through talks and understanding. We are neither intending nor have a policy of harming others, the future Afghanistan will be a home of peace.”
Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi vowed that they want a new chapter to be opened between Afghanistan and the world. “We want to open a new political chapter of good governance at home and a new political chapter with the region and the world as far as our relations are concerned,” Shaheen tweeted quoting Muttaqi.
