KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai strongly condemned the two separated blasts in the Dand-e-Patan district of southeastern Paktia province and Peshawar city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
At least 56 people were killed and more than 190 were wounded in the suicide bombing that took place at a mosque during Friday prayer in Peshawar city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, media reported.
Two worshipers were killed and 18 others wounded in a blast that occurred at a mosque in the Dand-e-Patan district of Paktia province.
Karzai called the attacks in contrast with Islamic and human values. The former president offered his condolences to the families of the victims.
The attacks that occurred at the same point faced a widespread reaction by many Afghan officials.
The former Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation, Abdullah Abdullah has condemned the two blasts and hinted targeting public areas is against all types of Islamic and human basics.
