KABUL: Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s special envoy for Afghanistan, and his accompanying delegation arrived in Kabul on Thursday to hold talks with the officials of the Islamic Emirate as well as top Afghan politicians.
The Russian delegation met with Former President Hamid Karzai, where they discussed the bilateral ties and extensions of Moscow’s cooperation with Afghanistan. In the meeting with Karzai, the Russian ambassador to Afghanistan, Dmitry Zhirnov was also present.
Kabulov held talks with Mullah Baradar and Muttaqi to discuss bilateral relations and extension of ties between Kabul and Moscow.
“The Russian delegation was comprised of several officials from several ministries. The delegation said Russia can help Afghanistan in some economic projects,” said Zia Ahmad Takal, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate.
