AT-KABUL: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) in an attempt to enlist public support in arresting those who took part in killing Farkhunda—a 27-year woman, who was lynched by an angry mob last month in Kabul, has announced a reward for those who give tip off to police regarding the suspects at large.
The MoI in a statement on Sunday said seven of those behind Farkhunda’s killing have escaped which three of them are directly involved in her killing.
The statement was first appeared on Facebook page of General Zahir Zahir, the head of Crime Investigation Department (CID). Zahir said that information which results in arrest of the seven escapees will be awarded cash money.
The statement said the ministry will award $2,000 for the information that yields arresting of every of the seven escapees.
According to the statement, the identity of those who cooperate with police for arrest of the men will remain secret. Pictures of the seven men have been uploaded by the CID chief in social media.
At least 48 people including 20 police officers were held in connection to Farkhunda’s case.
