AT-KABUL: The Minister of Interior, Noor-ul-Haq Ulumi, said that Daesh fighters are old enemies of Afghanistan who have switched white flags for black.

Ulumi said that there is no difference between terrorist groups. “When the Taliban showed flexibility in their stance, a new group under a new flag was created. The enemies of this country are the same, but they changed name from al-Qaeda to the Taliban and now to ISIS,” he added.
Ulumi said that he has directed security forces to attack militants in a style that they attack people of Afghanistan. “I have instructed security forces not to show any mercy towards militants,” he added.
Deputy Head of the National Directorate of Security (NDS), Hesamuddin Hesam, said that Deash in Afghanistan is different from the one that operates in Iraq and Syria. “I once again reiterate my remarks, the ISIS that operates in Iraq and Syria is different from the ISIS that operates in Afghanistan,” he added.
Hesam said that the Taliban by hoisting black flags of Deash want to stir up fear among people.
He said that a large number of foreign militants along with their families have sneaked into Afghanistan. He gave it out that the militants want to settle in Afghanistan’s north.
Hesam said that Afghan security forces are capable to fight against militant groups. According to Hesam, 236 militants, including eight foreigners, have been arrested over the past week.
Murad Ali Murad, the commander of the Afghan National Army (ANA) ground forces, said that 2015 will be a challenging year for Afghan security forces. He termed both the Taliban and Daesh as enemies of the people of Afghanistan and said that security forces will not remain silent before the subversive activities of the terrorist groups.
The remarks came at a time that a suicide blast in Jalalabad the other day killed 34 people and wounded 120 others and Deash claimed responsibility of the blast.
