Kabul: According to the announcement of the US State Department, this country has allocated about 327 million dollars in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
The US Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced on Friday, May 1, that 119 million dollars will be provided through the Office of Refugees and Immigration of the Ministry.
It is stated in the statement that another 208 million dollars will be given to Afghanistan through the Office of Humanitarian Aid of the United States Development Agency.
In the declaration, it is mentioned that this assistance is provided for the provision of shelter, health care, internally displaced persons, protection, pregnancy and maternal health, life saving, prevention services and response to gender-based violence.
It is said that financial aid for health support, nutrition, corona virus testing and vaccination will continue for Afghan refugees in neighboring countries.
The US State Department has added that since the Taliban’s rule in Afghanistan, the country’s aid to Afghanistan and neighboring countries has reached 1.1 billion dollars.
This ministry has said that they are committed to the people of Afghanistan and also asked other members of the international community to support the people of Afghanistan.
Meanwhile the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Finance of the United States announced that in coordination with their international partners, including the government of Switzerland and Afghanistan’s economic experts, has created the “Afghanistan Trust Fund” for the preservation and management of 3.5 billion dollars of the Central Bank of Afghanistan reserves.
In the joint statement of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Finance of the United States, it is stated that this fund was created for the benefit of the people of Afghanistan and block access of terrorist groups to these assets.
