Kabul: Tass news agency has reported that Zamir Kabulov, the special representative of the Russian president, met with Amir Khan Mottaqi, the Taliban acting foreign minister in Kabul.
In this meeting Kabulov emphasized on the rapid establishment of peace and national reconciliation in Afghanistan.
Russian embassy in Kabul said in a statement that, Russian presidential special envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov and Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan Dmitry Zhirnov discussed issues of regional security and problems of the stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan with Taliban acting Foreign Minister.
Muttaqi reassured Kabulov that “his country’s leadership is listening to the advice from the Russian friends and is working on the formation of an inclusive government, on human rights issues, including, naturally, the rights of women and girls,” the embassy said.
Among the topics discussed with the Afghan partners were problems of the development of trade and economic ties and cooperation in combating terrorism and the drug threat.
Meanwhile Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in a press conference that Moscow strongly condemns the terrorist act that took place this year in the vicinity of the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul and was claimed by ISIS.
She added that, this event is the latest in a series of attacks on the diplomatic missions of Russia and Pakistan and the Chinese Hotel in Kabul.
He expressed his hope that the Taliban will conduct a comprehensive investigation on this terrorist attack and bring the criminals to justice.
