Kabul: The heads of the national security advisors of India, Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and China discussed the situation in Afghanistan in the recent meeting in Moscow.
According AWAZ media Pakistan as an important Afghanistan neighbor was absent in Moscow meeting, although the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan stated that the reason for the non-attendance is because the country has no National Security Advisor after the post fell vacant with the resignation of Moeed W. Yusuf.
However, a senior Pakistani official had said that the reason for Pakistan’s absence was because of India’s participation in the Moscow meeting.
This media noted that Pakistan has not participated in any of the previous rounds of these talks. It did not participate in the first two meetings hosted by Iran in 2017 and 2018 saying that there already are many forums on Afghanistan in which Pakistan participates.
The third round of dialogue, hosted by India in December 2021, was not attended by Pakistan as well for an obvious reason, the sole purpose of its foreign policy, hatred of India. This year, Pakistan repeated the excuse that was raised in 2019.
Considering the convergence of views of Iran, Russia, Central Asian countries and India regarding Afghanistan, further isolation and self-destruction of Pakistan is not far from mind.
