Kabul: The office of the United Nations Deputy Mission in Afghanistan said that with the beginning of the new school year in Afghanistan, more than one million girls are not allowed to attend their classes.
The statement of UNAMA states: The mission of the United Nations Vice-Chancellor in Afghanistan once again calls on the ruling authorities to change all their discriminatory policies against women and girls. Such policies not only prevent half of the people from achieving their dreams, but also cause a lot of damage to Afghanistan.
Meanwhile UN Women in Afghanistan said that “As a new school year begins, Afghan girls are denied their basic right to education for the second year in a row. An act shattering the dreams and hopes of millions of girls and condemning Afghanistan to further poverty and loss.”
