Kabul: After Afghan security forces announced the killing of three prominent ISIS members in northern Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, the former representative of the US Department of State for Afghanistan Affairs, called for increased interaction between the US and the Taliban for the full implementation of the Doha Agreement.
Khalilzad made this request on Monday morning in a series of tweets in response to the security forces claim of killing the key figures of the ISIS group in Balkh.
Khalilzad said that if the claims of killing of Maulvi Ziauddin, the second person of the Khorasan branch of Daesh, Abu Omar Afridi, the advisor and Salman Tajikstani, the expert in training and making explosives of ISIS group, is confirmed, then it is a big blow to Daesh in northern Afghanistan.
According to Zalmi Khalilzad, the fight against the Khorasan branch of ISIS is one of the commitments of the Taliban to the United States in the Doha Agreement. Security sources of the Taliban government claimed that during an operation, they killed some key members of ISIS-K in Balkh province.
