Kabul: Retired government employees asking for payment of their pensions, saying that they will held protests if their salaries are not paid in two months.
The retirees said they have not received their pensions this year and last year, and they face many economic challenges.
Retirees said that despite the government’s promises, nothing has been done for them yet.
The pensioners also give warnings to the caretaker government, saying that “We are forced and obliged to start a protest and demonstration.”
However, the Ministry of Finance says that pensioners’ salaries are included in the 1402 budget and will be paid.
Ahmad Wali Haqmal, the spokesman of the Ministry of Finance, told TOLOnews: “In the budget of the new fiscal year 1402, the necessary funds have been considered for retirees, and we are waiting for the guidance of ministry leadership.”
In another event the head of Jabal al-Sarraj cement factory in Parwan province, has given a 20 days deadline for retirees of this factory to vacate the government houses, but the retirees says that they are not leaving due to the server economic situation in the country.
