KABUL: In light of the urgent humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan has taken a significant step by delivering crucial medical supplies to the country. A special flight transported the much-needed medical aid on Saturday.
Led by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, Taalatbek Masadykov, a Kyrgyz delegation personally delivered the cargo aid to Kabul. This mission was carried out on the explicit instructions of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov, as part of an earnest effort to address the dire circumstances faced by the Afghan population.
The official transfer of the humanitarian aid took place during a meeting with Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the acting deputy Prime Minister of the newly formed Afghan government. In this crucial gathering, Masadykov and Baradar engaged in discussions on the political situation in Afghanistan, emphasizing the pressing security issues faced by the country and the wider region, as detailed in the report.
During the meeting, Baradar expressed his gratitude to the president of Kyrgyzstan and its compassionate people for extending this vital humanitarian assistance. He highlighted the critical needs of Afghanistan, considering the fact that the pledged international humanitarian aid has yet to arrive and the country’s financial accounts remain frozen. Moreover, Baradar emphasized the urgency of bolstering confidence-building measures with neighboring nations, emphasizing the crucial role of establishing lasting peace within Afghanistan and improving the lives of its people.
As part of his visit to Kabul, Masadykov also held a protocol meeting with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting foreign minister of Afghanistan, further strengthening the diplomatic ties between the two nations.
