AT-KABUL: At least 11 armed Taliban fighters were killed and six others were injured in the past 24 hours in multiple military operations launched against anti-state elements in different parts of the country.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with Afghan National Army (ANA) and the National Directorate of Security (NDS) has conducted clearance operations against insurgents in different areas of Kunar, Kandahar, Zabul, Uruzgan, Logar, Ghazni, Paktia and Herat provinces. In these operations 11 militants were eliminated and six others injured.
Two insurgents were also arrested and handed over to the relevant judicial body for interrogation and prosecution. ANP recovered huge cache of weapons in the operations as well, the ministry claimed.
It is worth to mention that law and order situation is deteriorating as the Taliban have launched the spring offensive and launched large scale attacks in Badakhshan, Kunduz and other provinces of the country.
