AT-KABUL: India condemned on Thursday the attack on a guest house in the Kabul capaital that left fourteen people killed, including four Indian nationals.
A suicide bomber attacked the Park Palace hotel last night. Condemning the attack, the Embassy of India in Kabul said that Indians are standing in solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved families and those who received injuries.
A press statement issued by the embassy said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to President Ashraf Ghani and offered condolences on the loss of precious human lives in the attack. The Indian government thanked President Ghani, Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah and the former president Hamid Karzai for offering condolence to the families of Indians killed in the attack.
“The Afghan leaders appreciate the contributions of Indians who are working here for the socio economic development of Afghanistan. The four brave Indians who lost their lives in the Park Palace attack will be remembered for their selfless contribution to friendship between our nations,” the statement said.
The embassy also commended the Afghan security forces for their effort to evacuate civilians from the hotel and neutralizing the attack.
