KABUL – Kazakhstan’s Supreme Court has officially removed the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan from its list of banned groups, according to an announcement by the Taliban’s foreign ministry on Friday. The decision comes following a meeting between Kazakh Ambassador to Afghanistan Alim Khan Yasin Galdiev and Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi.
In an official statement, Afghanistan’s foreign ministry reported that the meeting between Ambassador Galdiev and Minister Muttaqi delved into bilateral issues, highlighting the commitment of both nations to fostering positive relations. Minister Muttaqi expressed appreciation for the practical steps taken by the Kazakh government to eliminate obstacles between the two countries.
During the discussions, Minister Muttaqi emphasized Afghanistan’s dedication to maintaining a positive relationship with Kazakhstan. He stressed the importance of ongoing cooperation between the two nations across various fields. In response, Ambassador Galdiev conveyed Kazakhstan’s eagerness to strengthen its ties with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. He expressed a desire to expand both trade and political relations.
