KABUL – In a tragic incident on Monday afternoon, an English instructor at the Muslim Institute in Kabul, Abdul Rashid Darwish, fell victim to a gunmen attack in the Shar-e-Naw area of downtown Kabul. The assailants’ motives remain shrouded in mystery.
This unfortunate event follows closely on the heels of another attack just a week ago, where Dr. Ghafar Hamdard lost his life in a gunmen assault near his clinic in the Kart-e-Naw area of Kabul’s District 8 on December 27. The Taliban, in response to the earlier incident, has committed to investigating the circumstances.
As of now, Taliban authorities have not issued a statement regarding the recent attack on Abdul Rashid Darwish. Concerns among Kabul residents about targeted attacks in the city are surfacing on social media, adding to the growing unease in the region.
