AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Amnesty International said that by targeting civilians in their attacks, the Taliban have proved that the group has no regard for human life.
The Taliban in an attack on a guesthouse in Kabul last week killed 15 people, including Afghans and foreigners and wounded several others.
The Amnesty International said that the attack on a well-known hotel in Kabul is a worrying sign that the Taliban’s spring offensive is in full swing, putting civilians at heightened risk of death and injury.
Horia Mosadiq, Afghanistan researcher at Amnesty International, said the Taliban by this attack proved that they don’t have any respect for human rights. “The Taliban are committing war crime by targeting innocent civilians in their terror attacks,” Radio Azadi quoted Musadiq as saying.
She called on the Taliban to stop war and urged the incumbent government to ensure safety of people. She also asked the government to bring perpetrators of such attacks to book.
