Kabul: In a tragic incident on Thursday, a suicide bombing outside a bank in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar claimed the lives of three people and left 12 others injured, according to a provincial official.
“In a suicide attack, three individuals lost their lives, and 12 others sustained injuries, as per initial reports,” stated Inamullah Samangani, Director of Information and Culture for Kandahar province, in a statement to AFP.
The explosion occurred around 8:00 am (0330 GMT), targeting a group of individuals waiting outside the New Kabul Bank branch in Kandahar.
“Typically, our citizens gather there to receive their salaries,” added Samangani, noting that the victims were civilians.
