AT-KABUL: At least seven people injured when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives near a vehicle of border police in southern Kandahar province, said a local official on Monday.
Samim Khpalwak, a spokesman for the provincial governor, said that the suicide blast killed seven people, including two policemen and five civilians.
A security official in the province said that the target of the suicide blast was Esmatullah, a commander of border police. Esmatullah escaped the attack unhurt, he added.
No group has claimed the responsibility of the blast so far.
Khpalwak termed the perpetrators of the blast as enemies of peace and stability in Afghanistan.
