AT-KABUL: An Assembly of the Hezb-i-Islami Afghanistan’s (HIA) Regional Councils expressed its deep concerns over signing of the intelligence sharing deal between Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS) and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
Criticizing the National Unity Government (NUG) for singing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the intelligence sharing with Pakistan, the regional councils of HIA on Thursday said that ISI was one of the key players in the past four decades in ruining Afghanistan.
Leadership of the HIA regional councils asked the government to abrogate the agreement “as soon as possible”, because the MoU was not passed through a legal process.
“The government shall also avoid signing of such agreements in the future that are clearly against the national interests,” they said in a statement.
