AT-KABUL: As many as thirty-eight Taliban fighters were killed and six others were wounded within the past 24 hours in operations launched against anti-Afghanistan elements in different parts of the country.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with Afghan National Army (ANA) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) has conducted joint operations against anti-state elements in different parts of Baghlan, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Sar-e-Pul, Kandahar, Zabul, Uruzgan, Logar and Helmand provinces. In these operations, 38 insurgents were killed and six others were injured.
The ministry claimed that huge cache of ammunition was also recovered. However, it did not provide details. According to the statement, three insurgents were also arrested and handed over to the relevant judicial body for interrogation.
