AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Journalists from Afghanistan and Pakistan termed mounting insecurity as the main challenge before regional development. They stressed on joint efforts from people and governments of the two countries in fight against militancy.
Media-men from the two neighboring countries in a session on Sunday said that youth from the two countries should join hands to bring lasting peace to this war-ravaged region. The session was organized by a youth’s association in Kabul.
Elyas Elmi, head of the institution, said that the session was aimed improving people-to-people contact between the two countries.
Eight Pakistani journalists form Kheyber Pakhtukhwa, Sindh and Punjab provinces as well as Kashmir have attended the 5-day session.
Samina Emtiaz, a Pakistani journalist, said that governments are created by people. “Thus, when people want peace, the governments should spare no efforts to bring it,” she added.
The media-men said that it was also the duty of journalists to work for brining ever lasting peace and stability to their countries.
Emtiaz Ali, another journalist from Pakistan, said they will deliver the message of peace, which they have received in the meeting, to every hook and cranny of their country.
Participants of the meeting said 60 percent population of the two countries are youth; thus, more efforts are required to motivate the new generation to support peace and stability in the region.
