AT-KABUL: At least 63 armed Taliban fighters were killed and 61 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with Afghan National Army (ANA) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) has conducted clearance operations against insurgents in different areas of Kunduz, Baghlan, Badakhshan, Sar-e-Pul, Kandahar, Zabul, Ghazni, Khost, Paktika, Paktiya and Herat provinces. In these operations 63 rebels were eliminated and 61 others injured.
The ministry claimed that one insurgent was also arrested and handed over to the relevant judicial body. Police also recovered huge cache of weapons in the operations, the statement said.
