AT-KABUL: The Taliban militants have kidnapped four civilians in Gailan district of Ghazni province the other day, said an official.
The Deputy Governor of the province, Muhammad Ali Ahmadi, said two women and a child were travelling to Ghazni city when they were stopped by the Taliban. The Taliban militants moved the three people along with their driver to an unknown place, he added.
He said that the kidnapped people were residents of Angori area of Jaghori district. He said that local tribal elders are trying to negotiate release of the kidnapped people with the Taliban. However, it is not clear whether the kidnapped people are dead or alive.
Though no one has claimed the responsibility of the kidnappings, local officials point the finger of blame to the Taliban.
It is pertinent to mentioning that such kidnappings on highways have raised concerns among common people.
