KABUL: Taliban militants fired a rocket into the Bagram airfield, leaving one American civilian dead, NATO said on Wednesday.
The allies’ Resolute Support (RS) media office said that militants had attacked the airfield with rockets two days ago, that left one American civilian seriously wounded.
The source said that the injured American succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday night.
“One Resolute Support civilian died of wounds sustained when a rocket struck Bagram Airfield on June 8, 2015,” RS said.
Bagram is the largest military base and airfield for foreign troops in Afghanistan. Several attacks have been carried out on the base in the past as well.
