KABUL: At least one civilian was killed and 20 others were wounded, after a suicide bomber driving an explosives-packed car targeted a convoy of foreign troops in Kabul.
Spokesman to the Kabul police, Ebadullah Karimi, said that a suicide bomber driving a Corolla vehicle targeted foreign forces’ convoy at around 1:20 pm on the airport road in the Macroyan area, which resulted at killing of one civilian and wounded 21 others, all civilians.
He said that the injured people were rushed to the hospital by police. The spokesman said that health condition of only one injured was critical.
Spokesman of Ministry of Public Health, Ismail Kawosi, said that a woman and three children are among the wounded people shifted to the hospitals.
NATO’s new mission “Resolute Support” in a media statement said that all personnel and equipment remained safe in the attack. Two service-members sustained minor injuries, added the statement.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. Spokesperson of the group, Zabihullah Mujahid, said on Twitter that foreign forces convoy came under the attack and sustained heavy casualties.
