AT-KABUL: The Ministry of Education (MoE) signed contracts with 11 private consultancy companies to provide trainings to graduates of vocational institutes and staffers of private firms.
The program will provide around 5,000 graduates of vocational institutes and labors of private companies with the opportunity to hone their skills. The training courses include: financial management, project management, construction works, information technology, job placement services and others.
Speaking at a press conference, the Minister of Education, Assadullah Hanif Balkhi, told reporters that the program will help graduates of vocational institutes to find jobs easily. He said that the scheme will be implemented by Afghanistan Work Development Program (AWDP) in Kabul, Kandahar, Herat, Balkh, Kunduz, and Nangarhar provinces. He added that the program will be implemented at the total cost of $3.7 million funded by the USAID.
Balkhi said that the program is aimed at enhancing capacity of skilled labors.
“This will provide the graduates of vocational institutes with the opportunity to put their learned skills into practices,” he added.
