AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Around 150 Taliban militants in Badghis province renounced violence and joined the peace process, said the provincial police chief.
Muhammad Qayum Angar, said that a group of 150 insurgents, led by Mullah Baaz Muhammad, laid down their arms and joined the peace process. According to Angar, the militant group was active Abkamri, NIhrab and Chah Sangi districts of the province over the past two years. The group also handed over a number of heavy and light weapons to Afghan security forces.
Angar hoped that security situation will improve in the above mentioned district.
The Taliban haven’t commented about report so far.
