AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The coordinated attack of the Taliban insurgents was thwarted by the Afghan security forces in the western Herat province.
Dozens of the Taliban insurgents had planned to carry out a coordinate attack in the capital of Obah district of Herat province but their plan was foiled by the Afghan security forces, official said.
The provincial police chief, Shir Aqa Alakozai, said that Afghan security forces had targeted the gathering where the Taliban were coordinating their attack.
He added that two Taliban militants were killed and seven others wounded in the operation.
“No casualties to the Afghan security forces during operation,” Alakozai said, adding that ammunitions were also confiscated from the Taliban.
