AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Monday thwarted a would-be attack on the Presidential Palace after they arrested four suicide bombers in Kabul city.
A statement by the NDS said a group of four individuals with links to Peshawar-based Taliban’s Shura (Council) were arrested in PD8 in the city.
The statement added that a suicide vest, five magnetic bombs, some explosive and seven mobile sets were recovered from the terrorists.
According to the statement, the group, which was involved in terrorist activities in the past, planned to storm the Presidential Palace, the Defense Ministry and two foreign forces’ bases in Kabul.
The detained terrorists were identified as Abdullah son of Abdul Hanif, Zia-ur-Rahman son of Ghulam Mustafa, Ajmal son of Esmat Khan and Sharifullah son of Qasim Khan.
