AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Traumatized by 12 years long imprisonment term, an inmate committed suicide in the Herat Central jail, source said on Saturday.
Herat attorney general, Gul Ahmad Ramish, said that the inmate who hanged himself to death was hailing from Shindhand district of the province.
According to the attorney general, the prisoner spent two years of his imprisonment term and requested the jail authorities to put him in a separate cell.
Ramish said that on Friday the inmate hanged himself with handkerchief as none of his family member or relative visited him in the past two years.
“He was under psychological pressure that’s why he committed suicide,” the attorney said.
