AT-KABUL: As many as 115 militants have been killed in military offensives launched by Afghan National Army (ANA) and Afghan Air Force (AAF) over the past 48 hours.
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) in a press statement issued here on Sunday said that the operations and airstrikes were conducted in Sherzad and Khogyani districts Nangarhar, Kohistanat district of Sar-e-Pul, Shohada and Kofab district of Badakhsahn, Mosa Qala and Nawzad districts of Helmand, Nadershah Kot district of Khost, Aab Band district of Ghazni, Dehrawoud district of Uruzgan, Pashtun Kot District of Faryab, Tagab district of Kapisa, Mohammad Agha district of Logar and Barmal district of Pakitka province.
The statement said that three Taliban commanders were also among those killed in the operations. It said that 115 militants have been killed, 41 wounded and five others detained in the operations. Afghan forces also recovered a large number of weapons, it added.
The statement said that security forces also defused 48 roadside bombs placed by enemies of the people of Afghanistan.
