AT-KABUL: Operatives of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) detained five Pakistani members of the Islamic State (IS) in Afghanistan.
A press statement issued by the NDS said that the five IS fighters were involved in subversive activities in eastern Nangarhar province.
It said that the arrested Pakistani IS fighters were previously taking orders from Maulvi Saleem and Gul Zaman. Gul Zaman was a senior commander of the IS, also known as Daesh, who was killed in an airstrike in eastern Nangarhar province.
IS fighters are active in many parts of the country and they frequently engage in fighting with the Taliban militants in eastern Nangarhar province.
