AT-KABUL: At least 150 armed Taliban fighters were killed and 86 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 48 hours.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) has conducted clearance operations against insurgents in different areas of Laghman, Takhar, Baghlan, Paktika, Faryab, Paktia, Uruzgan, Kandahar, Badghis, Farah, Kunduz, Sar-e-Pul, Daikundi, Helmand and Kabul provinces. In these operations 120 rebels were eliminated and 80 other injured.
The ministry said that 15 ANA soldiers lost their lives in the line of duty in the fight against the Taliban in different province.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Interior in a statement said that 30 militants were killed and six others wounded in different joint operations in various districts of Nangarhar, Sar-e-Pul, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Logar and Helmand provinces.
At least 45 insurgents were arrested in the crackdowns. Security forces have also recovered huge cache of weapons.
