AT-KABUL: Unidentified gunmen killed 13 passengers of a bus in northern Balkh province on Saturday, said an official.
Munir Ahmad Farhad, spokesman for the Balkh governor office, said that the passengers were attacked on a highway in Zari district of the province. He added that all victims of the deadly incident were civilians. He said that police have started investigations into the incident.
The Taliban militants also denounced the killing. Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban’s spokesman tweeted that such attacks, regardless of the reason, need to be condemned.
Zari district is located around 150 kilometers from Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital city of Balkh province.
