A dozen Taliban insurgents have been killed during ongoing operations in Marjah and Nad Ali districts of southern Helmand province, officials claimed on Saturday.
The operations were launched on Friday in the two districts, with security forces killing 12 fighters, injuring several others, seizing a large amount of arms, ammunitions and walkie-talkies, a statement from the 215th Maiwand Corps said.
Thirty landmines were defused during the offensive, in which the security forces suffered no casualties, the statement added.
However, the Taliban fighters also claimedinflicting casualties on several security personnel in the province. (PAN)
