AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: A deadliest infighting broke out between two rival militant groups left 70 dead, on Sunday. In the clashes 10 militants were killed from Mullah Mansour Dadullah’s side, believed to be backed by Daesh, and 60 militants form Mullah Akhtar Mansour’s side—the new Taliban leader, said the provincial security chief, Ghulam Jailani Farakhi.
The District chief, Haji Mohammad Nasratyar confirming the report said that Dadullah’s group had the supported of Daesh terrorist outfit.
He added that Taliban has captured 30 Daesh fighters during the clash. “As the fighting broke out, many residents left their homes,” he said. Following the death of Mullah Omar, the late supreme leader of the Taliban, the insurgent has been hit by divisions. The rupture occurred when a group of the Taliban (blood relatives of Mullah Omar, and Mullah Dadullah) defied to announce allegiance to Mullah Akhtar Mansour—who declared himself to be the successor of Mullah Omar, whereas the opposing group alleged him to be selected by Pakistan’s spy agency—ISI. The disgruntled group finally chose its own leader, Mullah Mommad Rasoul.
