AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Up to 12 Daesh (ISIS) militants were killed in a clash with security forces in eastern Nangarhar province, officials said.
The district chief of Achin, Haji Ghalib, said that the insurgents attacked security check post in Abdul Khel area. In retaliation, security forces killed a dozen Daesh militants and wounded several others.
He said the clash lasted for several hours in which three security personnel sustained injuries.
Since the start of the month, dozens Daesh militants were killed in counter-terrorist operation. A radio base of the Daesh militants was also destroyed, said Ghalib.
Daesh militants used the radio base in order to keep in touch with their fellows in Iraq and in Syria.
