Kabul: A court in Pakistan’s Karachi city ordered the release of 405 Afghan nationals, the Afghanistan consulate in Karachi told TOLOnews on Wednesday.
According to consulate Abdul Jabar Takhari, the order will become into effect in the coming days.
“We have once released 428 people and they returned to the country. Now, the court ordered the release of 405 other people. Their paperwork is under process and they will also go back to Afghanistan,” he said.
He said among Afghan refugees, “there are 257 children, 712 men and 194 women.”
This comes as the Afghan refugees in Pakistan have complained over mistreatment by the Pakistani police.
This comes as the Pakistan National Human Rights Commission said earlier that at least 500 Afghan women and children have been detained by police in Karachi.
