Kabul: After the fall of the previous government, the educational institutions face many restrictions. Although the universities were opened with the separation of boys and girls classes, they were closed to girls again after December 20, 2022, and girls deprived of attending secondary schools.

The restrictions imposed on women education by the Afghanistan interim rulers faced reactions inside and outside the country. The citizens of the country have expressed their opposition to this decision of the Taliban by launching hashtag campaigns on social networks.

The closure of schools was applied not only to public schools but also to private schools. According to Tolo News, girls above the sixth grade went to some underground private educational centers for education. The instructions for private schools are the same as those for public schools.

In private schools, the educational curriculum promoted by the Ministry of Education of Afghanistan is taught together with auxiliary subjects and English language.

According to Mohib, head of private schools in the Ministry of Education of Afghanistan, currently, there are more than four thousand private schools operating in Afghanistan. The fee for students varies depending on the region; in Kabul, it starts at 150 Afghanis and reaches (5,500) Afghanis. Central areas have high fees, and other areas have lower fees. A suitable place of education, school repairs, classrooms, a good curriculum, auxiliary subjects, foreign languages, professional teachers, transportation, providing good services, etc. have a major role and a clear contribution in the amount of private school fees.

According to the Ministry of Education and Afghanistan Statistical Yearbook 2021, Ministry of Education data shows that (10,364,985) students were enrolled in the primary, secondary, and high schools, vocational high schools, technical vocational institutes, teacher training institutions, religious education, and students abroad in 2021. There were (9,501,229) students enrolled in government educational institutions and (863,756) students in private educational institutions. The total number of teachers was (249,267) in 2021, out of which (205,084) were in the government and (44,183) were in the private sector.

But only in Kabul, there are a total number of (23,653) teachers, (423,695) students and a total number of 1379 school at private education sector.
