AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: During the military operations in eastern Nangarhar province against Taliban and Daesh militants, a US soldier has been died as a result of wounds, sustained during the combat operations, said US military in a statement.
Gen. John W. Nicholson, US Military Commander in Afghanistan while commenting into the matter said, “On behalf of all of US forces in Afghanistan, I offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of our fallen comrade.”
He added, “We will always remember our fallen comrades and commit ourselves to deliver on their sacrifices.”
The killed soldier was a member of US Special Forces team, taking part with Afghan security forces in counter-terrorism operation, carried out against ISIS group in Nangarhar province.
However, the Afghan security forces are successfully chasing the terrorist groups across the country. Recently, the Afghan and US forces have jointly launched ‘Hamza’ and ‘Khalid’ military operations to counter ISIS-K (Daesh) in Nangarhar and Kunar, as well to isolate insurgents across the country.
