KABUL – Hedayatullah Badri, Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, met with Mohammad Murad Amanov, Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, on Saturday to discuss expediting the initiative’s progress.
The meeting, held in Kabul, focused on reviewing recent developments and strategizing to accelerate the remaining phases of the pipeline, which has been under construction in Afghanistan for over two months. Key topics included enhancing employment opportunities for Afghan workers, advancing technical expertise among Afghan engineers, and addressing critical logistical and operational challenges.
The TAPI pipeline, designed to transport natural gas from Turkmenistan to India through Afghanistan and Pakistan, is a cornerstone of regional energy cooperation. The project is not only expected to boost energy security but also to deliver substantial economic benefits, including job creation and infrastructure development in local communities.
Officials reiterated their commitment to overcoming obstacles and ensuring the project’s timely completion. The initiative is viewed as a vital step toward regional economic integration and energy stability.
